Bihar Education Department Announces Mandatory Competency Test for Contractual Teachers

The Bihar Education Department now requires contractual teachers to pass a competency examination within three attempts, or face job loss. The decision, announced by the committee chaired by K.K. Pathak, follows a December 26, 2023 cabinet proposal granting government employee status to 3.5 lakh contractual teachers, contingent on passing the competency test.
